About Us

History
PeerPoint is a small, independently held business located in Evanston, Illinois, a northern suburb of Chicago. PeerPoint’s parent company, MedPoint Communications, Inc., was founded in 1990 as a privately held medical communications company, which was and is focused on providing medical education services to the health care and biopharmaceutical industries.

To solidify the growing demand for a demonstrable separation between the promotional and independent educational functions of medical communication companies, MedPoint’s Executive Committee decided in January 2004 to officially spin-off the MedPoint Office of Medical Education by forming a financially distinct, fire-walled, limited-liability company, the PeerPoint Medical Education Institute, LLC. Currently, we are finalizing complete separation from MedPoint due to the fact that the ACCME has defined MedPoint as a "commercial interest."

The PeerPoint management team believes that good science is the foundation of good medical practice, and that effective medical education should improve patient outcomes. When creating accredited professional education, PeerPoint policy mandates that programs be independent, free of commercial bias and present scientifically rigorous information. PeerPoint exclusively develops and delivers accredited continuing medical education programs to various healthcare stakeholders, including physicians, nurses and nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, dieticians, case managers, and respiratory therapists.
